Ferris Bueller's Day Off - Saturday, August 7th

It's time for another Film Night in the Park (well actually, I haven't been to any so far this summer... boo!).  I'm going to be out wine tasting all day, but I'm sure I'll be back in time for the show.  Now, I'll bet it will be freezing cold, but if we bundle up, and drink lots of wine, I'm sure we'll survive.  Who will brave the cold and join me?

Lower Haight Art Walk - Friday, August 6th

Looking forward to checking out the Artwalk here in my neighborhood.  There will be food carts, art, bands, and a scavenger hunt!!!  Come with me.

Renegade Craft Fair @ Fort Mason - Sat & Sun, July 31 & Aug 1

Woo hoo... it's time for another Renegade Craft Fair! It's next Saturday and Sunday (July 31st and August 1st) from 11 to 7 at Fort Mason. I haven't decided yet which day to go yet, so your response will very likely influence my decision ;-)

SF Opera Aida Simulcast @ AT&T Park - Friday, September 24th

Okay, this is being promoted way ahead of time, but I'm passing along already anyhow. I went to this last year and it was very cool, although by the end I was shouting "Die Already!" and went home about one aria away from the finale ;-) Needless to say Operas are a bit long, but that's what is so great about seeing it for free at the ballpark.

This year they're doing Aida, and I'm hoping that I'll recognize many of the songs. Now even though it's free you do have to RSVP, which I've already done for 4 people... one of those spots is yours if you want it (just let me know).

The Royal Tenenbaums @ Dolores Park - Thursday, May 13th

Bay to Breakers - Sunday, May 16th

It's B2B time again and this year me mateys and me arrrrrrrrrre to be pirrrrates! We'll be meeting up at my place, conveniently a few blocks from the route, for a bite to eat before the race starts, will head to watch the runners go by, then join the costumed & drunken masses! The Independent is showing Fantastic Mr. Fox on their Monday free movie night coming up on April 5th. I never got around to see this in the theater, but I'm a big Wes Anderson fan, so I'd really love to see it... and it's FREE (unless you decide to get a cocktail... which is even better)! Who's in?

The Hangover @ The Independent - Monday, January 4th

The Independent is having another of their free movie nights this Monday with "The Hangover" (seems appropriate right after new year's). Doors open at 7:30, show starts at 8:00. Free movie, cocktails (not free, but pretty cheap), what's better than that.... who's in?

Holiday Craft Fairs!

There are 3 great looking holiday craft fairs coming up over the next few weeks:

1. Handmade Ho-Down on Thursday, December 3rd - billed as the "First Ever SF Etsy Urban Craft Show Event"... that's good enough for me!

2. Bazaar Bizarre on Saturday & Sunday, December 12 & 13 - Went to this one last December and it was great!

3. Renegade Craft Fair on Saturday & Sunday, December 19 & 20 - So excited to have this fair back a second time this year just in time for holiday shopping!

Hardly Strictly Bluegrass - Saturday & Sunday, 10/3 & 10/4

Woo hoo, the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass schedule has been announced! So here's what I'd like to do... I'm going to skip Friday, but I'd like to show up early and spend the day on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday I definitely want to see The Old 97's so I'd like to camp out at the Towers of Gold Stage, where they'll be playing at 3:30. Okkervil River is also playing that stage at 1:35. I'll probably ramble over to the Banjo Stage at 2:40 to see Steve Martin too.

On Sunday I want to camp at the Star Stage where Neko Case is playing at 5:20. Elvis Perkins in Dearland is also playing that stage at 11:40. I'd also love to check out Billy Bragg, Robin Hitchcock, and Aimee Mann on Sunday.

So last year I showed up at around 9:30 in the morning. While it was really early, it was totally worth it to get a great spot, relax, eat, drink and wander around before the crowds pour in. Jan has volunteered to join me early on Sunday, so I'd love it if someone would join me early on Saturday too. Let me know if you're going and would like to camp out with me at all!

Opera at the Ballpark - Saturday, September 19th

I'm joining Julie and her friends to go to the free SF Opera simulcast at AT&T Park Saturday night. The opera, Verdi's Il Trovatore, is being performed live at the opera house and simulcast into AT&T Park. Entrance is free, but you can get in early for a better seat if you RSVP here.

Think about it... watching opera while eating a hot dog and drinking a beer ;-) You know the drill, hit me up if you'd like to join me.

Eat Real Festival - Saturday, August 29th

Another street food festival next weekend called 'eat real' at Jack London Square! I'm hoping that it won't be as crazy as the SF Street Food Festival was this weekend **fingers crossed**. I'm going on Saturday afternoon but it's going on all weekend.

The name says it all... street food on Folsom Street! I'm definitely going, so let me know if you want to join me.

High-heeled Keds!

My old favorite high-heeled sneaks totally gave out and I'm so happy that I was able to find a new pair. These one's are even real Keds!

New People/J-Pop Summit - Saturday, August 15th

For those of us who like Japanese pop culture I think this is the day for us in San Francisco. The opening of New People and the J-Pop Summit street fair is next Saturday from 11-5. Oh, and Hello Kitty will be there!
